"Walker, there is no path to follow, you make the path by walking", that is what Antonio Machado, a Spanish poet, wrote and that can summarise the story of my life. So far, my life has been a long pilgrimage through different diverse countries and differnt diverse experiences: I am curious, I like learning and exploring new paths.

Hi! My name is Mercedes Huertas-Migueláñez and I am a User Experience Researcher. I got my Ph.D. from the University of Trento (Italy) where I investigated user engagement and participation in the co-design of digital resources.

Since I graduated as a Computing Engineer I decided to deepen my knowledge in artificial intelligence (AI) and ultimately, how can AI facilitate people’s lives or how can people incorporate AI in their lives. That drove me to focus my work and Ph.D. studies in user experience (UX).

I love working in UX and I love working with people: in UX I can explore and burst my creativity to find different ways to engage users, understand their needs and behaviour, providing the solution that adapts better to them.

When I’m not working I devote my spare time to swimming, painting, and hiking.
